  • Julie studied medicine at the University of Newcastle and soon realised that her passion was General Practice. Julie loves looking after patients at all different stages of life. Julie started working at this practice in 2002 and has never left.

    Besides General Practice, Julie works as a Forensic Medical Examiner for the Newcastle Sexual Assault Service and is also involved in the GP Access After Hours roster.

    When not at work, Julie enjoys spending time with her husband and two adult daughters. She loves to travel and is always thinking about her next adventure.

  • Tim is a Newcastle local who completed his studies at The University of Newcastle. He enjoys all aspects of general practice and has a special interest in skin cancer. Tim also performs vasectomies at our practice as the primary doctor of Newcastle Vasectomy Clinic.

    Outside of work, Tim loves playing soccer and running around after his two young daughters.

  • Sally graduated from University of NSW in 2003 and has been with the New Lambton Family Practice team since 2008.

    She has expertise in sexual and reproductive medicine, and provides the following specialist services in addition to standard GP care at NLFP:

    + Preconception and Antenatal Care
    + Insertion and removal of all types of IUDs and implanon
    + Sexual health
    + Menopause management
    + Pregnancy options including medical terminations.

    Sally works on the GP Access After Hours Clinic Roster and is a Visiting Medical Officer with the Hunter New England Voluntary Assisted Dying Service.

    Sally is Medical Lead at Family Planning Australia Research Centre and is a Conjoint Senior Lecturer with the School of Medicine & Public Health, University of Newcastle.

    In her spare time, she loves spending time with her family and her cheeky labradoodle, running, cycling, reading good books, and enjoying good food and wine.

  • Kristy graduated from the University of NSW in 1995 and joined the New Lambton Family Practice team in 2018.

    Prior to that, Kristy worked in the Coffs Harbour region from 2001 in General Practice and Women’s Health. Between 2006 and 2018, Kristy focused mainly on youth health, working at Headspace Coffs Harbour while doing further psychiatry training. She now enjoys all aspects of General Practice.

    When not at work you might find Kristy on the golf course if the weather is good. She loves spending time with her children as much as possible and loves to relax by knitting and crocheting.

  • David is a Newcastle local, having grown up and completed his medical training here. After working as a GP on the mid north coast of NSW for over 20 years, he returned to Newcastle in recent years, with the opportunity to combine GP work with an appointment at the University of Newcastle. David is a strong advocate for his patients with interest in evidence based medicine, mens health and dermatology.

    When not at work, David is a mediocre cyclist, sunny day surfer and a tragic fan of old rotary Mazdas.

  • Danielle completed her medical training at the University of Sydney. Her training included an Honours year working in cot death research at RPA Hospital.

    Upon graduation, Danielle worked in Glasgow, Scotland for one year, after which she arrived in Newcastle to undertake her GP training.

    Danielle has a particular interest in babies and children.

    When not working, Danielle loves running and all things active, good food and being with her family.

  • Jenny has been at the New Lambton Family Practice since 2019 and enjoys all facets of General Practice and the variety of clinical presentations and patients. She has found it a privilege to work with people and their families over the years and to be able to provide them with continuity of care.

    Jenny completed her medical training and doctoral/PhD thesis at the Technical University of Munich in Germany. She worked several years in various hospitals and departments locally and in Germany before she started her GP training in Newcastle.

    When not working, Jenny enjoys spending time with her 3 children and family. She speaks fluent English and German (and would be happy to have a consultation in German if required).

  • Danielle completed her medical degree at Bond University in 2012. She then moved to Newcastle to complete her internship, residency and general practice training. She has worked in remote North Queensland for outreach and also practiced in New Zealand.

    Dr Danielle enjoys all aspects of general practice- including women’s health, antenatal care, paediatrics and preventative medicine.

    Outside of work she spends her time chasing after her two young sons and is an avid dog lover.

  • Gemma loves working in General Practice as it allows her to approach each patient in a holistic manner across the full range of life stages.

    She has a special interest in sexual health and women's health including menopause and provides medical termination of pregnancy.

    Gemma completed her medical degree at the University of Sydney in 2008 before moving to Newcastle in 2011 to complete her GP training.

    As well as working at New Lambton Family Practice, Gemma also works part-time at Brightwell Health, providing comprehensive care to patients requiring sexual and reproductive health services.

    Gemma also works as a Forensic Medical Examiner for the Newcastle Sexual Assault Service.

    When not at work, Gemma loves spending time with her husband and two children and enjoys travelling, cooking and walking her giant dog Malo.

  • Andrew was a computer programmer and IT consultant for many years overseas before returning home to Australia and undertaking medicine at Newcastle Uni. Since then all his medical training has been in and around the Hunter and New England districts.

    As well as a love for general practice he has a keen interest in research and looks forward to many years of combining the two areas for the benefit of his patients.

    Outside of work, Andrew is a keen runner and skier. He is also the loving father of three adult children.
